And sadly it"s one that doesn"t quite pay off.
The novel thing about the last film was seeing the teenagers take on avatars that were totally different from their own personalities. By repeating this trick again the originality is lost. It"s funny, don"t get me wrong, but it"s not the same the second time around.
It"s all perfectly enjoyable, but again the plot feels a bit too similar for its own good, and been done better too.
I would have liked more nods to the original. We get one, but it"s thrown in at the end for good measure.
This is a decent film, but I think they should stop now.
The plot is almost the same as its first installment, watching it on IMAX was exhilarating with few of the scenes like the monkey chase/fight scene except that nothing else was memorable.
